THE WISTERIA STORY

Welcome to Wisteria Wellness! I'm Meredith Daniel, a certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP) and Restorative Wellness Practitioner (RWP) living in Colorado with my love, Joey, our daughter, and our pup. I created Wisteria Wellness with a mission to help women reclaim their innate health and wholeness through nutrient-dense, nourishing foods and sustainable lifestyle shifts.

My journey into holistic health began in search of answers to some of my own health problems. The more I learned about my body and its interconnectedness to food, environment, and lifestyle, the more I wanted to know. My curiosity eventually led me to pivot from nonprofit management into holistic nutrition, graduating from the Nutritional Therapy Association in 2019 and launching Wisteria Wellness in the time since.

I've always been suspicious of people who say they like their job, but for the first time ever I can say that I truly enjoy mine! I love seeing my clients experience the freedom of whole health.

My Health Journey

I've had asthma since before I could even walk and talk. A litany of other things, too: allergies and hives, terrible acne and rosacea, chronic yeast and sinus infections, hormonal imbalances and depression, gut stuff (mainly bloating and constipation). After years of seeking care from specialists and conventional medicine, all I had to show for it was a cocktail of prescriptions, antibiotics, and steroids that would mask my problems for a while until some shift in my environment or stressful life event would send me back into a spiral of inflammation.

I struggled with these things throughout most of my 20's until I began to clean up my diet. I read somewhere that processed foods and sugars contribute to rosacea flareups, so on a whim (and with no better options) I decided to cut them out and see what happened. My rosacea cleared up! And to my surprise, so did my yeast and hormonal issues. I was fascinated. As someone with a history of disordered eating, I found it completely transformative to view food as a healer rather than the enemy. I was encouraged by the progress I’d seen through adopting a real food diet and set out to uncover the root of the other health issues I was experiencing.

I began researching everything I could about a "food as medicine" approach and discovered holistic nutrition, eventually enrolling in the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) to deepen my knowledge and be part of a science-based learning community.

Not only did my time at the NTA change my entire life course professionally, it also opened up a whole new path to healing personally. During my time as a student I connected with an NTA alumnus who offered to work with me. We uncovered the root of my health issues and began shifting my body back into balance. After six months of working together, I stopped needing an inhaler or allergy medications entirely -- for the first time in my entire life. Even to this day the work continues, and it certainly wasn’t an easy road to get here, but I’d take the hard work and sacrifice over the limitations of asthma and allergies any day.

Nutritional therapy gave my body the tools it needed to heal itself.

I feel so grateful for the opportunity to offer my clients the same experience.
